The White Swan Flyfishers was established in a South East London pub early in 2003 and now has nine regular anglers in its ranks who fish for trout on the small stillwaters of Kent and Sussex.

It is not a club or society but rather a group of like minded individuals who share knowledge and enjoy their sport.

 'First trip of season'

This was at Chalk Springs where six fish were had by three anglers. One being Karl Brown aged 12 who took his first fish, a rainbow of 1lb 15oz on a RP G/H black olive totally unaided.

'Well done Karl'

The 'Fly-fishing & Flytying' magazine 2008/2009 fly-tying league has come to the end for yet another year. This has been the highest positions so far with Jim, Dave & Richie finishing 59th, 62nd and 79th!

'The White Swan Flyfishers website is now 1 year old'

'North Kent Flydressers Guild Chairmans Charity Day'

This was held again at Lakedown and was yet another well organised day. The fish were a bit reluctant but plenty came out.

Both Jim & Richie attended and the weather was warmer than last year making a very pleasant day.

'Welcome John'

Dave took John to Chalk Springs last Thursday to teach him on his first fishing trip. Dave hooked a 2lb 4oz rainbow on a Blue GH Fritz where John played it in. He then went on to take his first 2lb 12oz rainbow without assistance.

It was a sunny day that was not too cold.

'The Avon Springs trip was a great success with many previous personal best's beaten'

Michelle plays her personal best 7lb 13oz rainbow at Avon Springs.

A very picturesque venue and lovely weather led to a very good days fishing.

Jim took his biggest rainbow (5lb 9oz) to date, his first grayling (12oz), and his first fish on a dry fly in the river. Jim also gets the quddos for taking the 150th fish taken on a Warren Zevon.

Richie took his first brown (8oz) on a dry fly from a river.

Michelle took her biggest rainbow

(7lb 3oz) to date.

Dave M took his biggest fish (5lb 2oz) to date.

Dave S took his first wild brown (12oz) from a river and first fish on a dry fly from a river.

CONGRATULATIONS! To Dave Sneath and Jim Lucas for finishing 63rd & 73rd respectively in the 'Flyfishing and Flytying' magazine 2007/2008 flytying league......
